All Gables staff are selected for their dedication
to the children in their care. The majority of staff are qualified
whilst some are taken on as trainees or modern apprentices and work
towards qualification, such as NVQs. All staff
have the required CRB clearance and are required to be trained in
pediatric first aid.
Professional development is highly valued for
all, beginning with a thorough induction programme, then offering
access to regular short training courses and opportunities for
advancing qualifications up to degree level. All Nursery managers have
several years experience and proven leadership skills. They have all
built on their original qualifications and either have, or are working
towards an advanced or degree level qualification.Managers are supported
by Team Co-ordinators and Team leaders, with a well-established career
development system in place for all staff.

Our staff to children ratios meet, and often surpass the minimum
requirements set by the national standards. These are 1:3 for babies and
children under two, 1:4 for children 2 – 3 years and 1:8 for children
over three.
